Chula’s Commerce and Accountancy establishes academic collaboration with KPMG Thailand to set up ‘UP Academy’ Date: 6 Nov 2020
The Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy of Chulalongkorn University, represented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wilert Puriwat, Dean, signed an academic MoU with KPMG Thailand, represented by Mr. Charoen Phosamritlert, Chief Executive Officer, to set up ‘UP Academy’.
The academy has the primary goal of developing students from all faculties into high-caliber and adaptable individuals who are competitive in both local and international arenas.
To this end, the academic teams of the two organizations united to formulate the learning objectives, develop the curriculum, and incorporate practical, problem-based learning activities from the business world to ensure that the participating students would be ready to apply the knowledge, ability, and experience to their professional life after graduation.
The very first program run by UP Academy was Young ESG, an online course aimed at helping the students to shape a better future for themselves with ‘the right knowledge’. Admission for the program ended on May 31, 2021. Those taking the course would be eligible to do an internship during the summer break of their sophomore or junior years or to even join KPMG Thailand upon their graduation in accordance with its recruitment and selection criteria.
